The Air Force is looking closely at how its fiscal year 2022 budget request might invest in the Defense Department's future space-based missile warning architecture, according to the service's deputy assistant secretary for space acquisition and integration. "Without getting in front of the budget process, I will tell you that for the '22 [program objective memorandum] we are looking very, very hard at the kinds of changes we believe we need to make into what we would call the next-gen next step," Shawn Barnes said during a Mitchell Institute event this week.
