La iglesia de Pío X, en Bolzano (Italia)

Se describen en el artículo la construcción y un breve estudio estático de esta original iglesia de planta latina y perfil curvilíneo, cuyas dimensiones máximas son: 55 m en sentido longitudinal y 26 m en el transversal. Se destacan las cuatro movidas láminas de cubierta, que concurren en la intersección de los dos ejes principales, formando un grupo de lucernarios que proporcionan luz ambiental al punto focal representado por el altar mayor. Toda la construcción se ha realizado en hormigón visto. El baptisterio —de planta circular— y los confesionarios creados como ?protuberancias? del muro lateral completan el conjunto.↓This article deals with the construction and the static analysis of this original church, of Latin planform and curved profile, whose maximum length is 55 ms and is 26 ms wide. Special features are the constrasting planes of the roof surface, which meet at the intersection of the two main axes, providing skylights through which daylight converges upon the main altar. The whole construction is unfaced concrete. The baptistry, which is circular, and the confession boxes, located in protuberances of the outer wall, complete the design.
