Early anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction restored dynamic knee function and improved clinical outcomes

Background: There is no consensus on whether early or delayed surgery of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is preferable. Moreover, there is no study that compares dynamic knee motion between early and delayed ACL reconstruction. The purpose of this study was to compare the dynamic knee kinematics during downhill running and clinical outcomes between early and delayed ACL reconstruction. We hypothesize that early ACL reconstruction would restore the dynamic knee function better than delayed ACL reconstruction and improve clinical outcomes.
