Cardiac hydatid cysts present as diagnostic dilemma and therapeutic challenge to the cardiologists. It results from infestation with the larval or adult form of Echinococcus granulosus. Isolated cardiac involvement is rarely seen and involvement of interventricular septum solitarily is even further rarer presentation. Here the authors present such a case of multiple interventricular septal hydatid cysts, in which the patient presented with nonspecific symptoms such as chest pain, cough and hemoptysis. The patient underwent exploratory cardiotomy and capitonnage for removal of cysts under cardiopulmonary bypass.
