Moreover, PBN-projecting DCN neurons did not overlap with VTA-projecting DCN neurons which has been recently shown to regulate social rewarding, and optogenetic inhibition of these neurons did not affect social interaction. Taken together, we demonstrated the functional connection from cerebellum to PBN in fear learning and memory. Furthermore, our results suggest that distinct cerebellar outputs have their own modalities according to their emotional valence-specificity.
