Steven Taylor, Auburn University: Auburnbrings to the table vast experience ineducation and workforce development and inresearch — we have faculty researching additivemanufacturing day in and day out. We have anextensive knowledge base on process and how ita?ects material properties and part performance.We’re also renovating the Gavin EngineeringResearch Lab, which will have research space,space to accommodate students working onadditive, and ofce area the COE can use. Auburn’srole in workforce development involves educatingengineers, both at the undergraduate and graduatelevel, who will advance additive manufacturing inacademia or industry for decades to come. Ourteam is also developing material to educate thetechnical workforce in the manufacturing sector.
