Gastric peroral endoscopic pyloromyotomy for refractory diabetic gastroparesis: First case report in Taiwan

Peroral endoscopic myotomy has been demonstrated as oneof the safe and efficient options for the management ofesophageal achalasia with favorable short-term periopera-tive outcomes and higher clinical success rate over 90%. 1e4This kind of promising technique, the third space endos-copy, could be adopted to other functional gastrointestinaldisorders, including gastroparesis. Gastric peroral endo-scopic pyloromyotomy (G-POEM) have been widely exploredin recent decade. 5 To our knowledge, this is the first casereport of G-POEM for refractory diabetic gastroparesis inTaiwan.
