Lead level determination of drinking water dispenser cabinet in Khon Kaen University

This study aimed to investigate lead levels from drinking water dispenser cabinet in Khon Kaen University, which were analyzed by using atomic absorption spectrophotometry at wavelength 283.3 nm. Forty drinking water samples were collected from the university at food centers (5 samples), academic faculties (15 samples), Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University (10 samples) and Modindaeng Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University (10 samples). The means of lead levels of drinking water samples from university at food centers, academic faculties, Demonstration Schools of Khon Kaen University and Modindaeng Demonstration Schools of Khon Kaen University were 0.005 ? 0.0007, 0.006 ? 0.0038, 0.004 ? 0.0011 and 0.001 ? 0.0013 mgL-1, respectively, which their lead levels met the standards of the Ministry of Public Health (announcement of MOPH 61/2524 and 135/2534), requiring drinking water to contain contaminated lead not exceed 0.05 mgL-1.
