Research concerning the young beach stands management aiming at high-quality wood production and having as objective the diameter-cutting age correlation

The main results of the researches are: the determination of the most important defects in veneering-wood declasation; the establishement of the best stand interior availablement; the simulation of thinning in beach stands aiming at high-quality wood production. Recommendations concerning the number of remaining trees per hectare in different ages or previous thinning regimes and in the application of thinning so that a high quality of the wood at cutting age must be obtained are made.
