On 14 October 2018, William Roy Branch, or simplyBill as he was known to most, passed away after a shortstruggle with motor neuron disease. He was not onlyone of South Africa’s most well-known and respectedherpetologists, but also a dedicated husband, a father, agood friend, and a mentor to so many of us. We havetaken this opportunity to collate personal tributes fromfamily, friends, and colleagues, to showcase the infuenceBill had on our lives and careers.
