Like many other public and privateorganizations, the Agricultural ResearchService is very concerned about how muchfood goes to waste between farm andfork—both nationally and internationally.By reducing losses in our food systems,U.S. growers, processors, and others canenhance America’s ability to feed itselfand the world. By the same token, slashingwaste may provide new opportunities toreduce costs along the entire supply chainand make better use of increasingly limitednatural resources.
