The Knowledge Transfer in ICT Sector in the Ko?ice Region

The paper deals with the ICT sector from the sectoral knowledge dynamics point of view. The theoretical part of the article describes selected aspects of the knowledge links in ICT sector - the knowledge oriented branch, based on the local buzz and local pipelines approach . Companies diversity in the ICT sector leads to a diverse importance of the knowledge links to both external and regional environment. The second part of the article is concerned with knowledge links analysis based on a case study in the Ko?ice region. The case study has been prepared on the basis of a qualitative research results. Conclusion of the case study shows diverse models of knowledge links between the local and foreign companies located within the region. Proximity is of lower importance in knowledge transfer in ICT sector when comparing to traditional sectors.
