In-Beam and Decay Studies of Neutron-Deficient Isotopes of Heavy Elements

An intensive program to study the production, decay properties, and nuclear structure of isotopes of heavy elements is underway at the Department of Physics, University of Jyv?skyl?, Finland (JYFL). The main tools used in these studies are the gas-filled recoil separator RITU and various germanium detector arrays. Illustrative examples from both decay and in-beam studies will be presented.
