REAL-TIME 3D ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY IN MITRAL STENOSIS

摘要

2D planimetry is considered the reference method in the assessment of the severity of mitral stenosis (MS); this method depends on the operators′ experience and on good echocardiographic windows. 3D echocardiography is a new imaging method that has the advantage in acquiring real time image and is considered a new clinical standard which provided more parameters than the 2D echocardiography in the evaluation of mitral stenosis severity.
