Preface

摘要

The 23rd Annual and International Meeting of the Japanese Association for Animal Cell Technology (JAACT) “Animal Cell Technology from Asia to World” was held at Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan from September 1 to 4, 2010. The meeting chairperson was Prof. Mutsumi Takagi, Hokkaido University. The meeting focused on recent advancements in the field of animal cell technology from both basic and applied aspects. We invited academic and industrial scientists from all over the world to make this meeting truly successful and scientifically fruitful. More than 250 participants from 16 countries joined the meeting and gave presentations (plenary & keynote lectures, 3; Murakami memorial lecture, 1; presentations by symposium participants, 36; Luncheon and technical seminars, 6; oral presentations, 35; poster presentations, 100: Trade exhibition, 22).;The titles of plenary lectures were as follows: Pleanary Lecture 1. “Glycoblotting method reveals new promising biomarkers during cell differentiation” by Dr. Shin-Ichiro Nishimura, Hokkaido University. Plenary Lecutre 2. “ESACT Lecture” by Dr. Dana C. Andersen, Generntech.
