Combat Direction Systems Activity, Dam Neck, part of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA),has a long history of support to the U.S. Coast Guard Polar Class Icebreaker program as the InService Engineering Agent (ISEA) for the Machinery Plant Control and Monitoring System (MPCMS).The MPCMS is the computer system that operators use to control main and auxiliary machinery toinclude three gas turbine main propulsion engines, three main propulsion electric motors, six mainpropulsion diesel generators, three ship service diesel generators and three variable-pitch propellersystems aboard each icebreaker.
