Evaluación de la eficacia de un producto despigmentante en gel en voluntarios diagnosticados con melasma

Introducci?3n: el melasma es una hiperpigmentaci?3n com?on que afecta principalmente a lasmujeres, comprometiendo su percepci?3n est??tica y su autoestima, con un impacto significativoen su entorno psicol?3gico, social y cultural. Se han postulado m?oltiples tratamientos con aparenteeficacia; sin embargo, algunos productos se han asociado con complicaciones cut??neas y sist??micas,que han generado que las regulaciones sean m??s estrictas para la preparaci?3n y la distribuci?3n deeste tipo de tratamientos.Objetivo: determinar si el uso de un producto despigmentante en gel ayuda en el aclaramiento del melasma. Metodolog?-a: mediante un dise?±o abierto no controladoy no aleatorizado se realizaron evaluaciones instrumentalescon ayuda de un mexameter?? en un ??reatratada (con melasma) y otra control (sin melasma) en eld?-a en que se inici?3 la aplicaci?3n del producto y a los 15,30 y 60 d?-as post-aplicaci?3n.Resultados: despu??s de 60 d?-as de aplicaci?3n del productobajo condiciones normales de uso en un grupode 30 voluntarias diagnosticadas con melasma, se evidenci?3una reducci?3n estad?-sticamente significativa enlas medidas instrumentales del ?-ndice de melanina de340,1 ?± 111 al inicio a 288,5 ?± 85,4 en la octavasemana. En la evaluaci?3n de la percepci?3n de las voluntarias,el 72,4 % refiri?3 un efecto despigmentantemuy bueno, el 89,7 % not?3 beneficios adicionales comopiel m??s hidratada, m??s tersa, m??s suave, al 82,8 %les gust?3 mucho el producto y el 96,6 % volver?-a ausarlo.Conclusi?3n: este estudio permiti?3 determinar la eficaciadespigmentante del producto emclarex?? puesto que mostr?3un 57,7 % de disminuci?3n del ?-ndice de melanina enel 89,7 % de los voluntarios diagnosticados con melasma,despu??s de 60 d?-as de uso. ABSTRACT Introduction: Melasma is a common hyperpigmentationthat primarily affects womencompromising their aesthetic perception andself-esteem, with a significant impact on theirpsychological, social and cultural environment.??Multiple treatments have been proposed withapparent effectiveness; however, some productshave been associated with numerouscutaneous and systemic complications thathave generated that are stricter regulations forthe preparation and distribution of this type oftreatment. Objective: To determine whether the use of askin lightening gel product helps in clearance ofmelasma.Methodology: By uncontrolled open designnonrandomized, instrumental evaluations wereperformed using a Mexameter?? in a treated area(with melasma) and other control (without melasma)on day 1 and at 15, 30 and 60 days postapplicationstarted. Results: After 60 days of application of theproduct under normal conditions of use in apanel of 30 volunteers diagnosed with melasma,it showed a statistically significant reductionin instrumental measurements of melaninindex of 340.1 ?± 111 at baseline to 288.5 ?±85.4 in the eighth week. In assessing the perceptionof the volunteers, 72.4 % reported avery good skin lightening effect, 89.7 % sawadditional benefits like more hydrated skin,smoother, softer, 82.8 % liked the product and96.6 % would use it. Conclusion: This study showed the skin-lighteningefficacy of the Emclarex?? product since itshowed a 57.7 % decrease in melanin index in89.7 % of the volunteers diagnosed with melasma,after 60 days of use.
