Unusual airway injury following a motor vehicle collision

A 16-year-old male presented to the emergencydepartment following a single-truck motor vehiclecollision. The patient was the driver of an older modelpickup truck that he lost control of while driving andwent off of the road. He was restrained with a lap beltonly, given the age of the vehicle. His only complaint atthe presenting hospital was left-sided neck pain andhoarseness.
