This past year saw the introductionof mobile interfaces for Elsevier’sMD Consult and First Consult.There are fundamental differencesbetween the two. MD Consult is amobile-optimized site, while FirstConsult is a mobile application(commonly called an app). Beinga mobile-compatible site, MD Consultrequires a wireless or dataconnection for access, while theFirst Consult app stores the contenton the device and can beaccessed from anywhere.
