Ag doped-bioactive phosphate glasses were processedby traditional melt quenching technique with theconcentration of Ag2O ranging from 0 to 5 mol%. The Agdoping led to the depolymerization of the phosphate networkwhichis accompanied by a decrease in the glass transitiontemperature. The processing window representedby ?T (?T=Tx-Tg) exhibited a maximum for glasses containing2-3 mol% of Ag2O. An increase in Ag content inducedan increase in the glass dissolution rate. The precipitationof a Sr-CaP layer at the surface of the glass particulateswas found to occur at shorter immersion time forthe Ag containing glasses. The congruent dissolution andwide processing window of these Ag containing glassesmay be of great interest for scaffold manufacturing fromsintering of glass powders with antimicrobial properties.
