The new Nantong stadium in Jiangsu province is China's first larqe stadium with a roof that can be opened and closed. It is exceptional, in that the propulsion and stabilisation of the movable roof parts takes place entirely hydraulically. Beneath the roof of the new Nantong stadium in China's Jiangsu province there is a soccer field, 400 metres of athletics track, and various accommodations. This part of the stadium has a total surface area of 48,000m~2, and forms part of a much larger complex that also includes an exhibition centre, bringing the total surface area to 150,000m~2.
