The family business was founded in 1946, and virtually all production is still undertaken at its headquarters in the village of Beer in Devon. The company has succeeded in retaining a successful UK production base by establishing innovative manufacturing and assembly methods for its classic track, locomotive, rolling stock and lineside products. The most recent example of this is an electrically conductive track joiner for its OO/HO and N gauge flexible track systems - a precision nickel-silver part manufactured under contract by Clamason Industries.
