Sakor technologies has been tapped to provide a test system for the next-generation Dream Chaser spacecraft that will prove the capability of an atmospheric flight control system that the company has already designed for the space vehicle. The San Antonio, Texas-based company-a long-time developer of instrumentation products for dynamometer testing - has supplied a test system to Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) that will exercise the craft's control system and simulate flight from atmospheric interface to landing. The spacecraft-owned and operated by Sierra Nevada Corp. (SNC) - is a reusable horizontal-landing vehicle that can fly with or without crew and one of the commercially built flight systems vying for use by NASA for future space travel.
