The Architectural Technology-Design Studio and its Role in Academic Education of Building Technology

Being an efficient and useful method of instruction, the architectural technology-design studio can play a major role in achieving fruitful academic education in various areas of building technology taught in schools of architecture. The paper begins by illustrating the domain of building technology. It proceeds to a description of the architectural technology-design studio (a studio specifically designed to address building technology issues) and its unique features as well as its functioning and operating environment. The paper concludes with thoughts regarding the integration of the architectural technology-design studio to the academic architecture curriculum.
