Mississippi Baptist Health Systems, a major healthcare provider in Central Mississippi, is expanding their healthcare services to the Madison, Mississippi community to meet the increased need for quality healthcare in that area. The City of Madison is experiencing tremendous growth in population and economic development activity while demanding adherence to strict guidelines with respect to overall planning considerations, architectural style, materials and quality, as well as design of landscape, hardscape, graphics, signage and the like.rnThe initial charge to the design team was to conduct a thorough inventory and analysis process for the sixty acre site prominently situated at the intersection of two heavily traveled vehicular arteries - Interstate 55 and Mississippi Highway 463, the thoroughfare serving as the entrance gateway to the City of Madison. A long-range program and master plan was then prepared for a comprehensive health care campus, to ultimately include a 200-bed primary care hospital, two medical office buildings, an ambulatory surgery/diagnostic facility, child care center, wellness center, boutique hotel, and outparcels for a possible restaurant, bank, pharmacy, or other related uses.
