Forum Attendees Experience a 'Virtual Ride' On The Rails

Norfolk Southern Corporation offered this year's exhibit attendees a "virtual ride along the rails," courtesy of the company's mobile Train Simulator-2 (TS-2). The unit, designed within a 53-foot motor home and equipped with all the bells and whisdes of an actual rail cab, is the type used to re-certify train engineers during their annual proficiency checks. Visitors to the Norfolk Southern Booth in Memphis got the chance to test their own locomotive skills of stopping, starting, climbing, and maintaining engine speed.
