As our NDTA President LTG Ken Wykle, USA (Ret.), stated in the President's Corner in the February 2011 DTJ, "our executive and legislative branches of government should start to focus on our nation's transportation infrastructure and on reducing the uncertainty caused by more government rulemaking or regulatory actions." The White House's proposed fiscal year 2012 budget request for the DOT of $128 billion represents a 38 percent increase over the proposed amount in fiscal year 2011 and a 39 percent increase over the $77 billion that was enacted for fiscal year 2010.
