One of the key competences of Hutchinson D&M is the production of highly sustainable, very lightweight forged and cast aluminum rims. The appropriate run flat system will be produced as well and adapted to the rim. Even if the tires are damaged and deflated, i. e. by shootings or explosions, combat vehicles are enabled to escape from the hot spot. Besides military and police vehicles, also special protected limousines, cash transporters (i. e. Federal Bank of Germany) as well as special fire fighting vehicles are equipped with this type of wheel assemblies.
