The New Summer Games: Turkish-Greek Aerial Confrontation

Usually, every summer, Greece and Turkey abide with a moratorium on military flights over the AEgean Sea due to the tourist period and for the security of the commercial flights in AEgean airspace which are increased during that time. Nevertheless, Turkey did not respect the moratorium, even during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. According to data received from the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), the Turkish breach of rules and violations in AEgean airspace during Summer (June-August) of 2003, 2004 and 2005 recorded by HAF radars demonstrate the consistent Turkish tactics over the years.
