摘要

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with US Pres. George W. Bush in Washington, DC, on November 5, 2007, and shared military intelligence on Kurdish fighters. The US agreed that Ankara was to receive real-time intelligence to enable hot pursuit of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party: Partiya Karkerin Kurdistan) guerillas, and for limited scale military operations inside northern Iraq against PKK camps. The US won a halt to Turkey's unilateral military action, which had been planned for November 7-8, 2007.rnAt least four times during early November 2007, USAF Lockheed U-2 surveillance aircraft were operational over northern Iraq, flying from the Turkish Incirlik air base. Also, the US Army has formally provided Turkey with satellite surveillance product related to PKK. The information and data the US delivered to Turkey have been processed immediately by the Turkish Army to conduct attacks, mostly via attack helicopters and aircraft.
