The Era of Strategic Containment is Over

Two historically great Eurasian heartland powers, Russia and China, in 2016 broke free of their centuries'-old geostrategic containment by the great maritime and rimland powers. This leads to the need for debate as to the evolution of heartland-rimland theories as espoused by Sir Halford Mackinder and others to meet evolving global realities.
