WHAT DID YOU IMAGINE was the key strategic lesson of 2020? It was neither that biologi-cal warfare was capable of being prosecuted on a global scale, nor that the broad approach to modern total war - amorphous, all-of-society warfare - could bring about transformative macro-economic consequences. Rather, what was demonstrated was that human minds could be induced, seduced, or coerced on a global, collective scale to follow paths inimical to their long-term wellbeing. Indeed, that they could be induced to commit societal capitulation.
