Organizational Profiling of Suicide Terrorism: A Pakistani Case Study

This paper examines the use of the suicide terrorism tactic as an organizational tool, whereby various methods of profiling and their shortcomingsrnare demarcated, and it is argued that organizational profiling of suicide bombing should be the preferred analytical tool for researchers trying to analyse the dynamics of the suicide tactic. Pakistan is chosen as a case study by virtue of being the country most affected by this phenomenon currently in the world. Pape's projections of the politics of suicide tactics are seen to fit neatly within the Pakistani variant of suicide terrorism, which lends credence to Pedahzur's hypothesis about the utility of organizational profiling. The propensity of such organizations to splinter into factions is postulated to escalate the cycle of violence, highlighting the need for more sophisticated research to be carried out into organizational profiling.
