The challenges for the modern defence industry today are immense. Equipment becomes ever more sophisticated and complex, while increasing pressure on costs leads to massive outsourcing across the globe. Time from innovation to delivery is becoming more critical, and performance demands have increased.rnIn this increasingly challenging environment and with troops in battlefields around the world, it is vital that the whole defence industry is working together effectively to plan, design, manufacture and deliver the tools and equipment that the troops really need.rnAnd the buck stops with the troops; they are the ultimate customer and the key stakeholder for the defence industry. Everyone involved with supplying the MoD and troops in the battlefield needs to work with that customer in their sights. In no other industry does the customer have so much invested in their job. In order for them to be able to do their job safely and effectively, everyone working down the supply chain needs to sign up to satisfying the stakeholders - the front line troops.
