The Future Integrated Soldier Technology (FIST) programme has been undergoing a period of reassessment following initial trials of 'off-the-shelf equipment and the introduction of the UOR process, which has placed immediate operational needs at the heart of the developmental process.rnSpeaking at a soldier transformation conference in Singapore in February, the leader of the Dismounted Soldier Systems (DSS) Team Colonel Bill Pointing provided an overview of the progress of FIST and of some of the administrative changes that have occurred within DE&S over the past year to enable it to be taken forward.
