The Future Integrated Soldier Technology (FIST) programme has seen rapid progress in recent months with the announcement of delivery dates for the new Surveillance and Target Acquisition package. Contracted through the Dismounted Soldier System team at DE&S, this will be the first suite of equipment to be deployed on operations, and is due to be given to units for training at the end of this year, with deployment to Afghanistan expected in 2011.
