The Royal Tournament has pride of place in British military history, running without pause (aside from the war years) from 1880 to 1999 annually, displaying the skills and grandeur of the Army, Navy and RAF while raising money for charities that support service personnel and their families. Its recent resurgence - under the new guise of the British Military Tournament - has been a great success, with a comeback in 2010 that saw 52,000 attendees and raised £320,000.
