It only takes one look at a map to see that the history of Salisbury Plain and the British Army are intertwined. The challenge of making soldiers' lives better, by bringing living accommodation into the 21st Century in this area of exceptional beauty and historical significance, is illustrated by two sets of works designed to bring maximum benefits with minimum disruption. These two schemes are part of the MoD's largest ever infrastructure Private Finance Initiative (PFI) - Project Allenby/Connaught (PAC).
