Shadow Wars

Seismic shifts have occurred in the Middle East since the U.S. invasion of Iraq. U.S. military force removed Saddam Hussain in March 2003 relatively easily; however the postwar violence has taken many new turns. Those who disagreed with the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq feel vindicated and to some extent are satisfied with current U.S. difficulties in Iraq. Every conflict has its own dynamics and the ultimate outcome of any conflict cannot be predicted with "reasonable accuracy. A complex set of factors including those which cannot be calculated are at play in any given conflict. Unpredictability is the essence of warfare. All players calculate their moves in any given environment but it is a complex interplay of various factors which drives the events in any given direction.
