Development of a Philosophy for Conduct of Air Operations by the PAF in Low-Intensity Conflicts

Paf is one of the key instruments of Pakistan's national power that is employed primarily for the purpose of thwarting external aggression or for establishing the will of the state where it is challenged by internal dissidents. Evolved essentially to conduct the full spectrum of air operations against a hostile and belligerent neighbour on its eastern flank, the service since 2004 has been increasingly deployed for conduct of major air campaigns against non-state actors who employ asymmetric Fourth Generation Warfare (4GW) technique on its western flank.
