Taqiyah simply means that a Muslim can renounce his faith in order to save his life from torture or death. The doctrine of Taqiyah is also found in Judaism, which commands its followers to save their own lives even by lying. Many Christian thinkers also believe this is something permissible. As for Kitman, this means "mental reservation" (i.e. telling half the truth in order to mislead someone), is a doctrine accepted by the Church and Judaism.
