Among the new and upgraded rotorcraft at DSEI in London in September was a venerable AgustaWestland Sea King HC4'Junglie'. The aircraft was brought to the show by 848 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) on behalf of the Mod's Disposal Services Authority (DSA), which is tasked with selling surplus kit from jet trainers to frigates that has reached its out of service date. The Royal Navy (RN) is replacing the type by June next year and only seven remain operational with 848 NAS, although others are in storage. Approximately 22 Sea Kings are available for sale by the DSA, including former RN HU.5 transports and RAF HC.3/3A SAR aircraft. The RN's ASaC.7 AEW&C Sea Kings are to remain in service until 2018.
