Between 0D fullerenes and 2D graphene there exists a wide range of exotic carbon nanoforms. However outside the nanocarbon community this is sometimes forgotten. The first problem we address is the difficulty of establishing a consistent nomenclature of all these various carbon nanoforms. We will give a comprehensive summary of different carbon nanoforms and will attempt to unify the nomenclature. We put special emphasis on the morphology of the different nanoforms and their different chemistry.
