Back in December 2004, New Nutrition Business published Ten Key Trends in Food, Nutrition and Health, a report chat argued that it would be possible to look back and see that 2004 was the tipping point for health and wellness - the year that wellness became unstoppable and crossed over from being just a trend to the defining force of all future food and beverage strategy. Supermarket sales data increasingly says that that tipping point has indeed been reached: sales of "healthy" products are rising and sales of "unhealthy" foods are declining. Furthermore, so central is health that it's necessary for companies to put it at the centre of their business just to stand still.
