Dziugas gains a PDI

Lithuanian cheese brand Dziugas has been awarded a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) from the European Commission. This is another progress marker for this cheese, which is making a name for itself as an addition to the list of continental cheeses much favoured by British shoppers, the company says. The PGI status assures shoppers of the products identity and quality. It officially recognises the unique characteristics of the cheese, its historic production base in Telsiai and its connection with the Lithuanian legend of the giant Dziugas.
