It's widely recognised that dairy industries make heavy demands on our water supplies at every stage of production, from thirsty cows to spotless refrigeration vehicles. It's also reliably predicted that fresh water supplies will become increasingly scarce in the coming decades. Serious scientific projections show that even in the wet climate of the UK, water demand will outstrip supply over the next 25 years due to population growth, global warming and increased industrial and domestic usage.
