All eyes on emulsifiers

Emulsifiers and stabilisers company Palsgaard's headquarters appears to be a bit closer to nature than the usual industrial park where you normally find ingredients firms. Amid a collective of early 20th century buildings, the headquarters and main manufacturing site sits in Juelsminde, country surrounded by wheat fields and on a peninsula that juts out into the sea. It is a fairly picturesque place. Management wants to keep it that way, along with a lot of other places where it operates. The Danish company, known as the inventor of the modern plant-based food emulsifier, set itself the goal of completely carbon-neutral production within ten years back in 2010.
