Dal 14 al 17 febbraio scorso si è tenuta a Christchurch (Nuova Zelanda), la nona edizione della conferenza internazionale sul comportamento delle strutture di acciaio in zona sismica, nota come STESSA (acronimo di "Behaviour of Steel Structures in Seismic Areas"). Durante questo evento sono stati dibattuti i recenti sviluppi della ricerca nel settore delle strutture di acciaio sismo-resistenti. In particolare, è stato mostrato e discusso il processo di ricostruzione post-sisma della città di Christchurch, che è stato caratterizzato dall'utilizzo diffuso di costruzioni di acciaio, realizzate sia con sistemi di tipo tradizionale che innovativo.%The ninth edition of the international conference on the behavior of steel structures in the seismic zone, known as STESSA was held in Christchurch (New Zealand) from the last 14th to the 17th of February. During this event the recent research developments in the field of seismic-resistant steel structures were debated. In particular, the post-earthquake reconstruction process of the city of Christchurch was shown and discussed, which was characterized by the widespread use of steel constructions, with both traditional and innovative structural systems.
