Incorporating the elements of nature and the outdoors into a home's interior space has long been a popular design initiative. More recently a converse trend has emerged-taking traditional indoor living outdoors. Interest in outdoor living space has been steadily increasing in recent years. In 2005, slightly under half of surveyed residential architects saw this as a trend growing in popularity. By 2008, over two-thirds of respondents saw this as increasing in popularity.
