Abstract A multivenue exhibition, Tangible Things: Harvard Collections in World History, which involved a treasure hunt through six museums on the Harvard University campus, posed provocative questions about the apparently arbitrary classification systems in which artifacts find final resting places. Tangible Things is certain to inspire a great deal of productive reflection and controversy among museum scholars.
